Specifications & Limitations


Specifications
            The solution must:
·         Only be driven by wind
·         Be large enough to hold all components
·         Stay stable during testing
·         Have a way to steer
·         Bee remotely controlled
·         Have an onboard power source
·         Have a way of maneuvering the sail
·         Be constructed well and have a professional overall appearance
·         Be light enough to be carried
Limits
            Size
·         The land sailor’s final form should be lightweight and easy enough to be carried so that the model can be transported short distances by hand
·         The Land Sailor must be within 1 meter in length, 1.5 meters in height, and .75 meters in width, as part of the guidelines for a class 2 land sailor
            Power Source
·         All electrical components must be powered by the onboard battery system, composed of two 9 volt batteries. 
·         Battery power must last for at least 1 hour or until the performance test is completed.
            Materials
·         The final design should be planned so that the performance is not detrimental to the racing portion of testing.
·         The materials used to make the landsailer must remain intact for the racing portion of testing.
